INFORMATION DESIGN

Off-the-shelf software will only provide off-the-shelf solutions. At UDC we don’t believe that “one size fits all,” which is why we start every project with a full discovery process. Once we audit team structure, desired project outcomes and a host of other factors, we design a data structure that accounts for inputs, assignments, tracking, accounting, communication, et al. The output of this phase is a full project information architecture that acts as a project methodology guide.

Sacramento Airport

The Big Build project was part of a $1.4B terminal modernization effort at Sacramento International Airport. Working with the enterprise software Prolog, UDC was on hand to set up user access, permissions and security, custom reporting, process development and training. The Big Build project finished six months ahead of schedule and $40M under budget.

John Wayne Airport

John Wayne Airport (JWA) needed to revise Primavera Unifier to accommodate an entirely new process. UDC stepped in to advise and facilitate the restructuring of JWA's system and procedures. To accomplish this, UDC set up a shell hierarchy in Unifier, which allowed us to relocate JWA as a subset of the County of Orange. This opened the way to collaborate with new business units by integrating them into one Unifier system. The result was accessible transparency into projects across teams.
